Approach School of Motoring is a family run business based in Kendal, Cumbria which was established over 20 years ago. Paul started the driving school as an independent instructor for many years, and he is now taking more of a back seat role in the team. Joanne provides admin support for the team and organises our FIRST APPROACH driving sessions for 15/16 year olds. Paul’s daughter, Nikki joined the family business in 2018 and we welcomed Eileen and Robert to the team in 2024.

All of our fully qualified Approved Driving Instructors (ADI’s) are all registered with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). Our instructors strive to deliver quality lessons and we are incredibly proud of our higher than the national average pass rate.

As a professional driving school we have agreed to follow the Approved Driving Instructor Code of Practice and we are committed to Continuing our Professional Development (CPD) to ensure that our clients receive the best, most up to date training possible.
